Velvety powdery colours for incomparable surfaces
Our paint has a high chalk and pigment content. The resulting velvety, powdery matte surface and intense colour depth creates a warm room atmosphere in a stylish look. It was developed specifically for interior use and gives room to individual ideas of effective and stylish wall design.
Processing
The paint is easy to apply with paint roller or brush, can also be thinned with water as needed. The painting utensils can be easily washed out with water. The paint is very good coverage, usually one coat is enough. Dark and colour-intensive shades require two coats. Paint containers can be disposed of in household waste after drying out.
Consumption: 2500 ml is enough for about 15-20m2 with one coat.
Where to paint VIA chalk paint?
The paint is suitable for all living areas. In the kitchen and bathroom it should be noted that it is not used in areas that are directly/constantly in contact with water or water vapor (shower, sink, etc.).
Today, chalk is used in many ways:
as a filler and colorant after elutriation and drying
- as healing clay
- as table chalk
- as wall paint
- as furniture paint
VIA chalk paint
From the Champagne region to the island of Rügen, a broad band of chalk runs through Europe. For a very long time, these shell remnants of marine animals have been known and used in art.
Chalk has been used as a color whitewash for several centuries. On Rügen, the mining of chalk began at the beginning of the 19th century.
Painting furniture
Old furniture gets a natural new coat with the natural VIA colors
VIA chalk paint can be used for many pieces of furniture:
They are best suited if they are made of wood. For example, the aging piece of furniture can be given a trendy exterior in shabby chic or vintage look. The velvety-powdery and matte look perfectly suits these styles.
Especially with furniture from the early 20th century, the modern Shabby Chic interior style comes wonderfully into its own and this color is ideally suited for such a project, as it can be processed without any problems. Originally created in England in the 80s, the Shabby Chic style today stands for more than just "artificially" aged furniture. It is as modern as it is classic, and it is also remarkably sustainable. Old furniture gets a beautiful new look thanks to the natural colors.
How to paint in shabby chic or vintage look
Of course, in such a project painting alone is not enough. The piece of furniture to be beautified must be sanded in advance so that the paint adheres to the material. How far the good piece must be sanded depends, among other things, on what condition it is in. Old, peeling paint must be removed in any case. The surface should then be dry, clean and free of grease and oil.
The base coat could even be a different color, such as red. This provides a special effect when sanding later. Painting is done in the next step, with the desired shade. According to taste, of course, a single coat may be sufficient. The paint can be sanded wonderfully smooth after drying.
Tip.
To complete the shabby look, additional areas can be sanded down further to expose the bottom shade or wood.
It looks authentic if this is done in places that also wear out in the natural aging process. On a chest of drawers, for example, this would be the areas around the knobs and handles, but also on the edges of the furniture.
Finally, the work can be sealed with clear lacquer. Thus, it is up to the everyday requirements of use.

Tip!
To complete the shabby look, other areas can be sanded down further to reveal the lower colour tone or the wood.
It looks authentic if this is done in areas that will also wear away in the natural ageing process. In the case of a chest of drawers, for example, this would be the areas around the knobs and handles, but also on the edges of the furniture.
Finally, the work can be sealed with clear lacquer. This ensures that it can withstand the demands of everyday use.
VIA tiles and VIA colors in harmony
The main components of VIA mosaic tiles and terrazzo tiles are marble powder and pigments. These two elements allow floors and walls to become a harmonious and unique unit.
Pigments and marble powder are also the two crucial and traditional materials of VIA chalk paints.
Inspired by the unique patterns and color schemes of cement mosaic tiles and terrazzo tiles, the colors create individual and incomparable room atmospheres and combine floor and wall into a harmonious whole.
