The renaissance of trottoir tiles
VIA transfers its philosophy of beautiful and high-quality floor design from indoors to outdoors, creating beautifully shaped and defining transitions.
The traditional sidewalk tile returns to sidewalks, thoroughfares and plazas. The VIA outdoor tiles can be laid so closely that a two-dimensional and highly aesthetic overall impression is created.
Wide range of possibilities with VIA trottoir tiles
The visual possibilities of outdoor tiles are extremely diverse. Floral motifs allow individual patterns just as much as geometric embossing or graphic elements. In this way, the floor design in the outdoor area can be accentuated entirely according to individual ideas; the motifs allow for playful or even linear patterns.
Many design options
The design of floors in outdoor areas benefits from the variety that creates unique and highly aesthetic overall surfaces from the different patterns.
The square and hexagonal tiles are laid directly on edge and are not grouted. The result is a homogeneous surface, as if from one cast.
Patterns and shapes
The format of the VIA outdoor tiles is 20 x 20 centimeters, adapted to the model of history. In addition, there are hexagonal tiles that allow particularly varied design options. A unique piece is the "Gaudi tile", which is floral and at the same time maritime inspired and goes back to the famous Catalonian architect Antoni Gaudi. VIA thus transfers the "Gaudi tile" from the interior to the exterior.
With the classic tiles for outdoor use, VIA shapes a historical design style and continues this form of artistic outdoor architecture.
The mixing time of the drainage mortar is approximately 5 minutes.
To achieve a satisfactory bond between the sidewalk tile and the single-grain mortar, apply a contact layer of VIA tile adhesive to the back of the tile.
Press in or tap the single grain mortar layer. A gradient of at least 2 - 3 % must be applied.
The single grain mortar layer must reach a minimum layer thickness - depending on the base - of 4 - 8.5 cm, so that capillary water rise can be effectively prevented. The VIA sidewalk tiles are laid next to each other with minimal joints, tapped firmly and checked for evenness. The VIA sidewalk tiles are wet-cut and precisely adjusted.
