Reproduction of historical plates
VIA revives traditional craftsmanship
In old villas, but also in simple houses, you can see original floors made of cement mosaic tiles.
The more splendid the building from the outside, the more elaborate and imaginative the floors. Even in church buildings, great importance was attached to ornamental floor decorations. VIA is inspired by these patterns.
With an extensive range of historic tiles, VIA continues a centuries-old tradition and contributes to the preservation of old patterns. With the increasing appreciation of architectural monuments, the demand for handmade cement mosaic tiles is growing. VIA tiles can be found in many historic buildings as bespoke products. Once the floor has been restored to its original state, the motif is often incorporated into the VIA range.
In this way, the almost lost knowledge of a traditional craft is preserved and constantly developed.
In the past, regional manufacturers used to present the variety of their patterns, the quality and the beauty of cement mosaic and terrazzo tiles in elaborate pattern books.

The youth style - Art Nouveau
Art Nouveau is an art historical period that replaced Historicism at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries (1890-1910). Nature became a source of inspiration. Decorative, flowing lines found their way into architecture and ornamentation. Many historic plates from this period show the typical floral and organic forms.
You can find many more historic panels on our website. You can also search for a specific style such as Wilhelminian, Bauhaus or Art Deco.
VIA custom-made products
When producing historical patterns, VIA takes the original formats, shapes and colours into account. Epoch, pattern and colourfulness played a decisive role.
Many other beautiful patterns from the Wilhelminian period or Art Nouveau are now regularly available in our shop after a special production.
