VIA Terrazzo processing with edge
VIA terrazzo mixtures can be combined with each other. This video shows how two different mixes are used in one project and how they are edged with an aluminium rail.

How the seamless VIA Terrazzo works
VIA Terrazzo is delivered to the construction site in a practical 25kg bucket. On site, it is mixed with water and processed into a levelling compound. This compound contains sand, lime and aggregate, the grain size of which determines the height of the future floor when the levelling compound is applied.
Important: 3-4 mm more material should be added so that the intended final dimension is achieved after the sanding process.
Requirements for the substrate
- Sufficient dryness, strength, load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability
- Free of adhesion-reducing layers such as dust, dirt, oil, grease and loose particles.
- Separating layers, sintered layers etc. must be removed by suitable mechanical means, e.g. grinding, brushing, blasting or milling.
- It should fulfil the requirements of DIN 18202, Tolerances in building construction.
- The requirements of DIN 18157 apply
- Cement screeds must be at least 28 days old, correspond to strength class F4 and have a residual moisture content of ≤ 1.8 CM-%, calcium sulphate-bound screeds of ≤ 0.5 CM-%, with underfloor heating < 0.3 CM-%.
- Calcium sulphate screeds must always be prepared in accordance with the BEB information sheet "Notes on assessing and preparing the surface of anhydrite screeds".
Sanding...
After installation, the VIA Terrazzo is dry-sanded. The rapid setting of the VIA bonding agent means that the flooring can be sanded after just one day of drying (at least 24 hours). Further information on the individual sanding steps can be found in the sanding guide.
... and filling
A visual inspection reveals isolated cavities, so-called blowholes. These are filled with a levelling compound made from the VIA pore filler and the sanding dust and sanded free.
The desired gloss level can be achieved by further sanding processes.

The VIA bucket deposit system
The empty VIA buckets with handles have other uses - to keep the construction site tidy, as containers for other materials or tools. Depending on how many buckets you have, not all of them can be reused.
If you have 50 or more buckets, we will be happy to take them back and recycle/reuse them. We charge a deposit of €0.50 per empty bucket. Contact us directly for details and processing.
