Architecture in its purest form
VIA Terrazzo Gesteinsplitte
The traditional and natural floor covering consists of sand, lime and aggregate. The lime surface provides a beautiful look and feel.
The high stone density and the special selection of stone chippings result in hard-wearing surfaces.
The VIA terrazzo mixtures are produced with the following stone chippings:
Carrara marble is a metamorphic rock consisting of crystallised limestone. It is formed by the transformation process in which calcareous sedimentary rocks are transformed into marble under high pressure and temperature.
It is characterised by a light to white base colour, which is often streaked with grey veins. These veins are caused by impurities that were embedded in the rock during the formation of the marble. Carrara marble is known for its fine-meshed, crystalline structure, which gives it a shiny surface.
The marble is relatively soft compared to other rocks, which makes it easy to work with - a characteristic that has made it particularly popular for sculptures and ornate buildings.
This chippings can be found in the following mixtures: T00952, T01101, T01102, T01321, T01511, T02353, T02860, T03261, T03501, T03812, T06054
Grey grit is a marble from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in northern Italy. It is characterised by a dark grey to almost black base colour, which is interspersed with striking white or light grey veins. These veins are the result of mineral inclusions formed during the metamorphic transformation of the original limestone.
Because it is marble, it can be polished and has a smooth, shiny surface that emphasises its natural veining. It is often used for high-quality flooring, wall panelling, stairs, worktops and decorative elements in interiors.
Although marble is softer and more acid-sensitive than granite, the stone is particularly appreciated for its elegant appearance and timeless aesthetic. The typical marble-like texture of this stone is created by the transformation of limestone under high pressure and temperature.
This chippings can be found in the following mixtures: T03261, T03401, T03660
Black chippings are dark marble or limestone that have a similar dark, almost black colour to basalt. The grit is often classified as marble as it is made of metamorphic limestone and has the typical structure and characteristics of marble. The stone has a deep dark black colour with subtle veins or fine patterns that often appear as brown or dark red. It is mainly used in high-quality design projects, such as flooring, worktops and wall panelling.
This grit can be found in the following blends: T00552, T00711, T00952, T01102, T01511, T03060, T03261
The beige grit is a limestone that belongs to the crystalline limestones and comes from the Italian region of Brescia (Lombardy). It is characterised by a warm, cream to light beige base colour, which is often interspersed with fine golden or brown veins. These veins can appear in different patterns, giving the stone an elegant, marble-like appearance.
The stone is a favourite natural stone in architecture due to its good workability and firm structure. It is often used for flooring, wall panelling, stairs and worktops. It is also in demand for the production of sculptures or as a decorative stone. It is essentially a limestone that develops marble-like properties to some extent due to the crystalline transformation process, but does not have the same degree of hardness as real marble.
The golden yellow marble chippings are a high-quality natural stone chippings with a warm, yellow-golden colouring that conveys a Mediterranean flair and enables sunny, warm terrazzo mixtures.

Orange-red grit is a limestone from the Verona region in northern Italy. It is particularly valued for its striking, warm colouring and fine marble-like texture.
Haematite has a uniform to slightly fluctuating red colour, which can vary from lighter to darker shades, often with fine white or beige veins. These veins are caused by mineral inclusions during the formation of the rock.
As it is a limestone, the stone is relatively soft compared to harder rocks such as granite or basalt, but is easy to work with and is nevertheless very strong and durable. The stone is often used for flooring, wall panelling, stairs and works of art.
The warm, red-brown colour makes the limestone particularly attractive for classic and traditional designs, but it also finds its place in modern interiors.
This chippings can be found in the following mixes: T03132, T03261, T03301, T03501
The red-brown marble chippings are a decorative natural stone with a characteristic brown-reddish colour that is reminiscent of mahogany wood. The stone comes from marble quarries and impresses with its elegant appearance with warm earthy tones that vary from dark to reddish-beige nuances.
Thanks to its elegant and warm colouring, the red-brown chippings are particularly suitable for harmonious, Mediterranean or natural design concepts. The chippings are also easy to care for and robust.
This chippings can be found in the following mixes: T02922, T03132
The green grit is a serpentinite, a metamorphic rock consisting mainly of minerals from the serpentine group. The green colour of Alpe Verde is caused by the mineral chrysotile, which is a component of serpentinite.
Serpentinite has a distinctive green colour that can vary from a light to an intense dark green, often with a marble-like texture. It is also commonly used in architecture, especially in decorative applications such as wall panelling or worktops.
This grit can be found in the following blends: T00952, T01102, T01321
The colourful mixture of rocks can be classified as metamorphic limestone, whose stones vary from light to dark and are interspersed with green, grey or beige veins. This mixture of different minerals and the fine marble structure give it a unique appearance.
Due to their variety of colours and unique textures, the stones are often used as decorative stones in various construction projects, whether for flooring, worktops, wall cladding or even façade cladding. The exact mineral composition can vary, which contributes to the stone appearing in different varieties. Some variants can have more marble-like properties, while others move more towards limestone-like materials.
The combination of different minerals and the metamorphic transformation make this mixture a very robust yet visually appealing material.
This grit can be found in the following mixes: T02160, T02102
