VIA Terrazzo - the most beautiful heating in the world

VIA Terrazzo can be combined with underfloor heating systems

  • The underfloor heating ensures a pleasant room climate, while the terrazzo floor distributes the heat evenly throughout the room thanks to its thermal conductivity.
  • VIA Terrazzo is compatible with electric and water-bearing heating systems.
  • The ideal complement to regenerative energy sources such as solar thermal or gas thermal energy.
  • Suitable for renovations in existing buildings and in all new construction projects.

 

 

IMPORTANT: The heating system must be agreed with VIA Application Engineering before the start of the project.

For the installation of VIA Terrazzo in wet areas, there are requirements for the substrate (see diagram).

After removing the old paving, adhesive residues and other unevenness are sanded off with a hand sander.

To save additional floor construction height, it is possible to mill the underfloor heating into the existing screed at a later date.

The dust created during milling is extracted.

The water-bearing pipes of the underfloor heating are laid in the milled recesses.

The pipes are then plastered over.

Apply a decoupling mat (e.g. PROSECUREfibretec 2.0 from Proline; or a similar product).

The VIA terrazzo compound is applied evenly, trowel by trowel, to the clean, primed substrate and levelled.

Avoid direct sunlight and draughts during installation.

The VIA Terrazzo is sanded dry.

Finally, the dry and clean terrazzo floor is impregnated with VIA Mineral Impregnation. This is applied crosswise with a floor wiper.
